Worship Blues
Sometimes I wonder how some church members can just stand there while a great worship song is being played. I’d think, doesn’t the lyrics move you and make you want to sing from the bottom of your heart? Giving your best and really losing yourself in the moment of true worship. The deep hunger for fellowship with Him and being humbled in his presence.
I thought today I finally learned why some people can be “unaffected”, as they seemed.
Its not because they dont value worship enough or because its unimportant to them, its because they’ve been step by step with God everyday of the week. Saturday or Sunday was just another day in His presence. Its not that their hunger or thirst has waivered, its because they’ve been enjoying His presence everyday.
We who stray from God long for and need a once a week sing out loud session. Something to fill the empty void in our hearts left by a meaningless week without conversation with Christ.
They dont raise their hands, simply because they’ve been alive in Christ every step of the day. Nothing to prove, God knows their hearts.
Worship is not judged by how loud we sing and how much tears is being shed. Worship is a lifestyle. Worship is constant.
I’ve learned my lesson.
That being said, I’ve lifted my hands today and never felt better while worshipping together as a congragation. Its just that starting from now I need to examine myself every week before I come to church. Is my praise empty and temporal? Or God pleasing, and always constant.
